The Koru or spiral design is a New Zealand design, based on the unfurling frond of a New Zealand silver fern. Spiral designs are also found in many different traditional cultures around the world with differing meanings and significance.
The inner coil suggests the start of a new life, with the outer coil representing growth and the continuation of life.
